The Carlisle Group has been retained to search for a Director of Operations/Manufacturing for a long-standing and leading provider of books, products, and services to libraries & educational institutions. Responsibilities
- Strategically plan, direct, and manage the daily operations of the company's production facility
- Oversee and empower reporting managers to supervise, train, and direct production employees
- Develop and implement production schedules that align with customer needs and internal capabilities
- Monitor production processes to identify and implement cost reductions, ensure on-time delivery, and maintain excellent product quality
- Collaborate with senior management to establish and achieve short- and long-term operational goals
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of safety within the production environment
- Manage budgets, expenditures, and P&L responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and other departments to ensure alignment with strategic business practices and corporate goals
- Oversee the hiring, training, and mentoring of the operations management team
- Provide regular performance updates to the leadership team
- Ensure decisions are made efficiently and with a sense of urgency
- Multitask and balance work load in an organized manner
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Manufacturing/Organizational Management or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operational management, preferably in a process-oriented environment
- At least 3 years (4 - 5 years’ experience a PLUS) of supervisory experience with a proven ability to lead, mentor, and train subordinates
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and change management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and create reports and presentations
- Adaptability to change, ability to manage competing demands, and handle unexpected events
- Demonstrated sound judgment, decision-making, delegation, negotiation, and confidentiality skills
